Contemporary hand turned wooden bowls and vases

I was first introduced to Woodturning in the early 1980s when I attended a woodworking evening class; I took it up again in the late 1990s, learning and getting inspiration from turners and demonstrators at Axminster Tools Centre and various shows in the South West.

I mainly use native hardwoods to create bowls, vases and platters, adding colour and texture as the piece develops; I am particularly interested in exploring different ways of texturing and colouring my work so that it is not immediately recognisable as being made from wood.

I have attended the AWGB demonstrators course; I demonstrate at clubs at which I am a member and for other clubs in the South West. I have taught woodturning at club level and am an approved woodturning tutor for the AWGB.
